4-Bagger Apartment Fire in Texas

Over 50 Residents Displaced

A MAJOR FIRE BROKE OUT IN AN IRVING, Texas, apartment complex Monday night that went to four alarms and required mutual aid assistance.

The fire started sometime between 8:00 and 8:15 pm Central and was noticed by some tenants after the flames started showing in the building.  The fire grew quickly and many people on the top floor of the 3-story building were trapped and jumped for their lives before the FD arrived.  Four others were rescued by FD ladders.  One man was badly burned on his upper torso and head.  At least two people were transported for injuries.

All 22 units of the building were destroyed and officials say that the entire building will be pulled down today.  Investigators are still looking for the cause.
