Traverse City tv channel 8 reports:

Police say 28-year-old Daniel Albrecht was transporting a car accident victim and a young child to Otsego Memorial Hospital when a caller tipped them off that Albrecht was driving while drunk.

When Gaylord Police arrived at the hospital, they determined Albrecht had been drinking and arrested him on the spot.

Albrecht was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and Child Endangerment. He was taken to the Otsego County Jail where he posted bail and is awaiting arraignment in January.

Albrecht has been suspended without pay from his job.  He is also the Operations Manager for the company.

Unbelievably sad that he would do such a thing. My squad, there would be no “suspended without pay,” it would be immediate termination (as it should be).

I think it will be suspension but until a conviction comes about you cannot terminate.

There will be a termination but until a conviction comes about the company can only suspend, I believe. I think it is dependent upon state law.
