Community Gathers to Honor LODD on 1-Year Anniversary

A Touching Tribute

Firegeezer notes:  One year ago Friday, on January 18, 2012, a young volunteer firefighter died in a car accident while responding to his firehouse for a call.  This Friday night a large group of residents gathered outside for a memorial service in remembrance of the young man.

Steve Roth of 911 Photography was there and prepared this report that we are glad to make available for you:

Friday evening, friends, family and firefighters gathered on Kinneman Road in Abbottstown in memory of United Hook and Ladder firefighter Brandon L. Little who at the age of 19 died in a accident January 18, 2012 while responding to a working building fire in New Oxford.

Firefighter Little crashed his personal vehicle just a ¼ mile from his home while responding to the fire house to ride the fire engines to the fire.

Nineteen luminaries were lit and released into the cold dark evening sky honoring his nineteen years of life, where he lived by the motto "Be Strong". Firefighter Little was still a probationary firefighter and was referred to as "probie" by his fellow firefighters.
