Cyclone Aftermath Creates Nature's Playground
THE NORTHWEST COAST OF AUSTRALIA was stricken by costly, extensive flooding Sunday caused by Cyclone Oswald. The storm primarily affected the state of Queensland where flash flooding innundated several coastal cities and caused the deaths of at least 4 people.
However one small area was affected by a natural phenomenon rarely seen, floods of sea foam.
Meteorologists say that this occurs when strong winds drive air into large ocean waves causing a soapsuds-looking foam in the water. As these surprised citizens witnessed the huge foam flood measuring 4 feet deep come flowing into their homes and shopping centers, many grabbed their video cameras and dutifully posted their videos onto YouTube.
