THE HERMON, NEW YORK, FIRE CHIEF and his brother have been arrested and charged with 3rd-degree grand larceny, a class D felony.

Christopher Stransky, 35, and his brother John Stransky, 32, are accused of stealing more than $3,000 worth of items from a town-owned building.  The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's office says that they are suspected of stealing copper piping, space heaters and an automatic garage door opener.

Both have posted bail and are free on personal recognizance.
