A HACKETTSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA, VOLUNTEER ambulance driver was arrested last night (Wednesday) after he showed up at an emergency while "under the influence."  The Lehigh Valley Express-Times is reporting:

Police saw him drive past the complex, then drive the wrong way into the one-way entrance, police Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

A Hackettstown police officer at the scene could smell alcohol on Rigney's breath, but Rigney refused to perform field sobriety tests, police said. He was taken to police headquarters and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone and careless driving. He was released pending a court appearance.

Firegeezer notes:  The have a loaded-up charge for DUI in a school zone?  At 9 pm?  Sounds like the town is trying to balance its budget on the backs of heavy drinkers.
