Has Indications of Murder/Suicide
NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Delaware, police are investigating the deaths of Jack Troiani, 41, and his wife Karen, 42, who were found dead from gunshot wounds Friday morning. Troiani was the president of the Christiana Fire Company in New Castle County.
The News Journal is reporting:
Around 8 a.m., neighbors heard gunshots. At about that time, New Castle County police received a call from a man who said there had just been a shooting inside his house in the 100 block of Sweetbay Lane in the Rutledge neighborhood, Cpl. John Weglarz Sr. said.
County officers as well as emergency medical units from Christiana Fire Co. responded. When an officer walked to the door, he heard what sounded like a gunshot and retreated, Weglarz said. Other officers were called out along with the SWAT team and set up a perimeter around the house.
SWAT officers later entered the home and discovered the bodies, both of which had apparent gunshot wounds to their upper body, Weglarz said.
No motive has been established for the crime. Both victims have been transported to the medical examiner's office for autopsies
