KETV reports:

The Cass County Sheriff's Office said moments before the crash, authorities received a 911 call about an erratic driver in the area of Highway 34 and Highway 1 near Elmwood — about 20 miles east of Lincoln.

Authorities said a 2002 Ford Ranger was traveling east on Highway 34 when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Weeping Water Rescue ambulance, which was traveling west on Highway 34. The ambulance was on its way to a hospital in Lincoln with a patient.
