THE ONLINE GOVERNMENT AUCTION website Municibid has a listing that some of you may be interested in, especially smaller departments.

There is a current listing for what appears to be a well-built mobile safety house that can be towed from site to site for safety talks and related educational programs.

Clicking on THIS LINK will take you to the description page where the latest bid is posted along with several more photos and the link to enter a bid if you're interested.  The sale ends on Monday afternoon and the trailer is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Thanks to Mark Donovan for passing this along.

A “constrictor” describes a snake that coils around and crushes its prey prior to swallowing it. There are a number of different species of constrictors, Burmese, African Rock, etc. While working my last few years in the Florida Everglades I hunted and killed a number of the Burmese pythons that have taken over part of it, eating damn near everything. They came as pets, were released into the wild and reproduced in record numbers. A model 870 pump shotgun loaded with buckshot was the only way when pursuing them in grass or knee deep water. At times you wondered who was hunting who with large snakes. I also made a few live captures of smaller ones 3-5 feet and they are mean and very, very, strong snakes. Nothing for the inexperienced to mess with. Miami-Dade fire rescue trains it’s firefighters in catching them and maintains a special anti-venom unit to deal with the many snake bites down here.
