Responding To An Accident
A PLATTEKILL (New York) FIRE DEPARTMENT engine was responding to a call shortly after 9 pm Eastern Saturday night when a car in the opposite lane of the Ulster County road drifted over the center line partway into the path of the pumper. The engine driver swerved to avoid the head-on crash but struck a guardrail and rolled over landing on its top.

All five firefighters on board were injured and transported to local hospitals. None of them were life-threatening injuries, but no other information of there severity has yet been released.
The car that caused the accident continued on without stopping. The Newburgh Police are hoping to track it down but they are lacking a description of the car.
