Here We Go Again

NEW HYDE PARK, NEW YORK, FIRE COMMISSIONER Michael Dolan, Sr., is in trouble with the law again after punching out a senior citizen in a road rage incident on November 22.

You may recall that Dolan had been arrested along with his son Michael, Jr., a volunteer firefighter, last year and charged with grand larceny theft for stealing smoke detectors from their fire department.  (See Firegeezer report from October 2012: )

The charges were later dropped, however both Dolans were tossed out of the VFD.  Earlier this year Jr. was reinstated, but Dad's dismissal remained.  He was however permitted to retain his seat on the Commission.

The New Hyde Park Patch is now reporting:

According to detectives, officers responded to a road rage incident on Merillon Avenue on Nov. 22 between the 69-year old Dolan and another male driver. Both vehicles had stopped and Dolan allegedly walked up to the other car and punched the driver in the face causing pain, facial lacerations and a broken tooth.

The victim is a 64-year-old man from Massapequa.  Upon their investigation, Garden City detectives identified Dolan and arrested him for assault.
